Cinemonde (New York, NY) – Private film series with screenings of American and international films throughout the year (approximately 6 to 9 events over every 12-month period) followed by a discussion with the films’ creative teams, along with a gourmet reception for guests and filmmakers. Seeking compelling, thought-provoking works from around the world with universal themes that are able to entertain, enlighten, transport, and inspire audiences in the following categories: International Feature, American Independent Feature, Documentary, and Short. Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) Greenhouse Fund – Grants for industry training and professional development projects for public TV professionals and independent producers. Eligible projects may involve forums for new technologies, skill-building, showcasing of best practices, mentoring, training that increases mastery, strategies to improve competitiveness, conferences to bring new voices and points of view into the public TV system, or forums to address key issues in public broadcasting. Proposals may be submitted by U.S.-based film producers, production companies, training organizations, media companies, or public TV professionals; must demonstrate feasibility and benefits to the public TV community. KQED Truly California Shorts – Web-only companion series to the PBS Truly California feature-length documentary series. Seeking short documentaries (30 minutes or shorter) about California, shot in California, and made by California filmmakers. Films may be in a wide range of styles on a wide range of topics. Independent filmmakers only. Works must be completed films or festival versions. Submit 2 copies of film, application form (available on website), signed release letter, one-page synopsis, bio or resume, and any relevant reviews or press coverage. NO FEE. WildSound Feedback Film and Screenplay Festival (Monthly, Toronto, ON, Canada) – All entries, whether accepted or not, receive full feedback from top directors and producers in the industry.
